Écume is sea-foam — the ivory that the ocean creates at its margins, at the boundary between the water and the air, where the movement of waves creates something lighter than either element alone. It is the most transient of all the ivories — present for a moment at the surface, dispersed in the next. In net, ivory achieves something close to this quality of lightness: the mesh grid making the colour appear to float rather than to sit, the negative space of the weave giving the ivory the quality of something that has not fully settled.
The Écume is the lightest and most airy set in the COOQ Net Collection — ivory mesh in a medium-fine grid that creates the impression of the colour hovering above the skin rather than resting on it. The diamond pattern in ivory reads with a softness that the same mesh in black or white does not achieve — the warmth of the thread taking the geometry of the grid and making it something between structure and cloud.
